Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Review

Hi ladies!

Hope you all have had a great weekend! My post tonight is a review on Clarins "Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch" primer.

Info about the product via Sephora:

What it is:A makeup base and primer.

What it is formulated to do:
This unique makeup base and primer provides a fine, melting texture that conceals lines, pores, and imperfections in an instant.

What else you need to know:
This product is non-comedogenic; allergy and ophthalmologist tested.

Research Results:
- 95% of users noticed smoother skin.
- 77% of users noticed fewer wrinkles and fine lines.
- 73% of users noticed more refined skin texture and pores

I am....still trying to figure this product out. For some odd reason, out of the blue one day in Sephora I remembered trying this product forever ago when I actually worked at Sephora and how much I liked it. Once I get my mind stuck on something, there is no turning back. However, I did not want to commit to a full size product so I asked for a sample and the sales girl generously gave me enough for two weeks worth of trial.

Gotta love the Sephora samples!

I could not WAIT to get this product on! I finally tried it andddd....yes, it makes an instant difference. It sort of makes a soft focus effect on my face and "blurs" my pores. Not necessarily filling them in but more smoothing them over. That sounds great, right? The reason why I am uncertain is because I feel like the product disappears over the day and I don't see the difference anymore.

Can you guess which side I am wearing the primer?

This is the effect with my regular makeup routine

Now I have tried several different ways of using it. I have tried it under and over my moisturizer, under and over my foundation and I don't know how to make it last. Also, it has a mattifying effect which I really like but suggest those with dry skin might look else where for another primer. I did not notice any effect on my makeup's longevity but that is normally not a problem for me anyways.

The product itself is sort of a fun texture. It feels very smooth and pretty thick to the touch and a little goes a long way. I have found there is no scent and looks light pink in the jar but applies virtually clear to your skin (see below).

The jury is still out on this product and I am willing to give it a little longer before I decide not to purchase it. At $32.50 for .50 oz (check it out here), it is definitely not cheap however a little goes a long way. I feel like it's on the brink of being brilliant but I just have to figure out the correct way to wear it. It could go straight from "nice product but unnecessary" to "must have" in my daily routine.

I will warn you that I may have the largest pores this side of the Mississippi so the fact this product can hide that, even temporarily, says a lot. I do suggest you try this product but, like me, get a sample first. Let me know what you think!
