I fell (okay jumped) onto the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind eye concealer bandwagon recently after reading glowing reviews for over a year. I, initially, was turned off because everyone and their mom had the product and I didn't want to get it just because of that. Well, I ran out of my current Revlon Photoready concealer (review here) and finally gave in to my curiosity and picked this up for around $8 at my local Target.
At first, I was put off by the package. It is in a very hardy plastic tube and you twist a section of it to make the product come out of the spongey/furry, for lack of a better word, applicator. After enough twisting for the first use I finally got the product to come out.
I dabbed the concealer around my eye area just as I had seen in so many YouTube videos in the past. At first the color I bought, "neutralizer", seemed too light for my skin tone but after patting and blending in with my ring finger the color turned out to be perfect. No reverse Raccoon effect (I was plagued by this in college looking back at pictures).
The color really did do as promised and took the purple tone away from my eye area and brightened it up but my favorite part was the texture. It wasn't very rich or creamy but rather light and airy and very easy to blend. I LOVE this! Because of this, I believe, I had no and I mean no issues with the product settling into my fine lines which I have a huge problem with. It was not greasy or oily but rather a watery texture that I really appreciated.
I am curious to see how long the product will last because my experience with very "packa(gy) type packaging is that some product is wasted or it gets clogged.
The makeup seems to range in price so I would check online to see where you can get it cheapest first (right now it's here). I do recommend trying it out if creasing is a problem for you or if you just want an easy application with coverage.
